Toddler Program
Montessori Toddler Community
The Toddler community is a caring and respectful environment where a class of up to 8 children and 2 adults work and play together. The classroom is attractively prepared with the needs of the toddler in mind. Children explore with special materials and activities that help them move, speak and function independently. The children become aware and sensitive to the needs of others and develop a greater sense of helpfulness and tenderness to others. The class is a “living room” for the young child, facilitating independence and exploration, friendship and cooperation.
Program Schedule
The early morning Toddler program is a 5 day per week program from 8:45 to 11:00 AM. We also offer a late morning Toddler Program running Monday-Thursday from 11:15-1:30.
The work period for each child begins flexibly, working gradually towards the full 2 1/4 hour span. Parents are invited to various meetings with staff throughout the year to discuss child development and their own child in particular.
Application Information
Parents interested in enrolling their child in GREAT BEGINNINGS toddler program should attend the information meetings to learn more about the program. If you are interested, you can make an appointment to come and visit the toddler environment. After your initial visit you may submit an application. Then you and your child will meet with Karen Cusanelli, the Toddler guide. Karen will explain more about the program and discuss your individual needs. It is an opportunity for both you and Karen to determine if this is the best program for your child.
